Maxell Dale Brannon

Maxell Dale Brannon, 76, of Leroy, died Friday, March 5, 2010 at his home.
He was born at Newton, a son of the late John and Delphia Bailey Brannon. He formerly lived in North Carolina, where he was a retired deliveryman and truck driver for Lowe’s. He was a Marine veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and a member of American Legion Post 217 in College Park, Md. His interests included bowling.
He is survived by daughter, Diananna “Diana” Nix of Greenbelt, Md.; sisters, Dorothy Farnsworth of Palmdale, Calif., and Marlene Harris of Akron, Ohio; brothers, Charles Brannon of Charleston, James Brannon of Huntington and John Franklin Brannon of Tallmadge, Ohio; and a grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanetta Conard Brannon; sister, Wilma Brannon; and brother, Lloyd Brannon.
Service was Tuesday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Reedy. Memorial donations may be made to Reedy Volunteer Fire Department or the Roane County Emergency Squad.

Alice Joan Mardones

Alice Joan Herda Mardones, 89, of Clarksburg, died Friday, March 5 at Fairmont General Hospital, Fairmont.
She was born in Broughton, Pa., a daughter of the late Michael Herda and Katherine Mainoch Herda. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarksburg, Sierra Club of Clarksburg, Catholic Daughters of America, Blue Army and Parish Council. She was a Eucharistic minister. She was active in evangelization and made several trips to the Holy Land.
She graduated from nursing at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, where she worked until marrying her husband in 1951, in Santiago, Chile. They lived in Spencer for 13 years, during which time they were members of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. They moved to Clarksburg in 1970. She was a homemaker and a gardener.
She is survived by daughter, Dr. Pamela Mardones Sullivan of Morgantown; sons, Dr. John Arthur Mardones of Indian Wells, Calif., and Dr. Daniel James Mardones of Anchorage, Alaska, and Kenhena Beach, Hawaii; sisters, Beatrice Armstrong of Wildomar, Calif., and Lillian Andrews of Denver; and three grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Arthuro O. Mardones, in 1998.
Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, with the Rev. Father Casey B. Mahone as celebrant. Entombment was in the Holy Cross Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to aid victims of the recent earthquake in Chile. Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, Clarksburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Dana D. Harold

Dana D. Harold, 69, of Rootstown, Ohio, died Friday, March 5 at Robinson Memorial Hospital, Ravenna, Ohio.
He was born at Oka, a son of the late Bruce and Willa McGlothin Harold. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from St. Gobain in Akron, Ohio, after 37 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, whom he married 49 years ago; daughters, Kathy Miller of Ravenna, Connie Uy of Waldorf, Md., and Melissa Meadows of the United Kingdom; brothers, Coy Harold of Ravenna and Larry Harold of Grants Pass, Ore.; a grandson and a great-grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Harold; and sister, Orpha Boston.

Eleanor Faye Henderson

Eleanor Faye Henderson, 95, of Spencer, died Monday, March 8, 2010 at Miletree Center.
She was born at Harmony, a daughter of the late Dennis and Ollie Harris Cox. She was a Walton High School graduate, a homemaker and formerly worked as a seamstress at Spencer Department Store and at Lois Holtz’s beauty shop. Her interests included the country, animals and helping others. She was a Baptist.
She is survived by three nieces and three nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Craig B. Henderson; daughter, Margaret Jane Henderson; and brothers, Forrest, Freer and Oral Cox.
The body was cremated. Burial of the ashes will take place later in Droddy-Canterbury Cemetery, Walton. There will be no visitation. Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dora Ann Sampson

Dora Ann Sampson, 85, of Chloe, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Systems of Grantsville.
She was born in Clay County and was a daughter of the late Albert and Ocie Sears.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Geraldine Elizabeth Sears of St. Albans; close friend, Thelma Carte of Chloe; nephew, Dennis McCumbers; and great nieces, Sabrina McCumbers Handley and Michelle Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Ezra McCumbers and Darrel Vaughn; brothers, Ambert, Ottis, Dennis and Otsil Sears; sisters, Gladys Sears and Shirley Sears.
Service was Wednesday at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Burial was in Sears Cemetery, Nebo.

Glenn E. Starcher

Glenn E. Starcher, 68, of Reedy, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Eldercare in Ripley after an extended illness.
He was born at Rocksdale, Calhoun County, a son of the late Denvil and Bertie Starcher. He was a retired oil field worker and a member of Reedy Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jeanie Starcher; a son, Travis Starcher of Mineral Wells; brothers, Denvil Jr. of Elizabeth and Arnold Starcher of Tampa, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his brother, Dean.
Service was Tuesday at Gilboa Baptist Church. There was no visitation.

Daniel A. Thomas

Daniel A. Thomas, 78, of Millwood, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.
He was born in Charleston, a son of the late John D. Thomas and Rachel Hall Thomas. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from Plate Department at Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, Ravenswood. His interests included football and basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hall Thomas of Millwood; stepsons, Roger Nichols and Everett Nichols, both of Spencer; stepdaughter, Shelia Hill of Reedy; brother, Calvin Thomas of Ripley; sisters, June White and Virginia Ellars, both of Charleston, and Juanita Canterbury of Belle; eight step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harwood Thomas; and stepson, Curtis Nichols.

Mildred Hope Davis Ashley

Mildred Hope Davis Ashley, 83 of Bristol, Va., died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol.
She was a native of West Virginia, a daughter of the late William H. and Bessie Groves Davis. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bristol; Marlyn Hills Garden Club and Homemakers Club.
She is survived by sons, Donald William Ashley of Bristol, and Thomas Wayne Ashley of Greeneville, Tenn.; sisters, Betty Myers of Dickinson, Texas, and Ruby Sponaugle of Parsons; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Webster Ashley.
Service was Saturday, Feb. 20 at Akard Funeral Home, Bristol, with Rev. Joe-d DowlingSoka officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Bristol. Thomas Jay ‘Tommy’ Cobb

Thomas Jay “Tommy” Cobb, 43, of Sandyville, formerly of Spencer and Ravenswood, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at his home after a brief illness.
He was born in Ripley, the son of the late James Sherman and Lela Jane Dennison Cobb. He was a former employee of Exxon 77 in Ripley. He was a Protestant.
He is survived by uncles, aunts and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Louise Cobb.

John Wesley Cottrell Sr.

John Wesley Cottrell Sr., 79, of Elizabeth, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 at his home after a brief illness.
He was the son of the late Perry and Laura Rogers Cottrell. He worked for WesVaco and Curry Lumber Company for several years, and later for Cottrell Lumber Company. He could play a variety of instruments and his interests included playing bluegrass and gospel music.
He is survived by sons, Bradley Cottrell of Petroleum and Stewart Hal Cottrell of Bellevue, Neb.; daughter, Alice Kent of Sandyville; special friend, Edna Ward; special nephew, Russ Cottrell; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Grita Cottrell; son, John Cottrell Jr.; a sister; seven brothers; and a granddaughter.
The body was cremated. The family will have a service later. Matheney Whited Funeral Home, Elizabeth, was in charge of arrangements.

Paul Schulze

Paul Schulze, 76, of New York, N.Y., died Monday, March 1, 2010 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
He lived for the past two years in Roane County, with his daughter, Zoe Ann Schulze-Mercer. He began his career in 1963 as director of design with Steuben Glass, New York. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and attended New York University and Parsons School of Design. His interests included windsurfing the beaches of Long Island in New York and sharing his appreciation of the arts.
He is survived by his daughters, Zoe Ann Schulze-Mercer of Brookville, Fla., and Tara Anne Schulze of Fort Collins, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

Brenda Scranta

Brenda Scranta, 50, of Tunkhannock, Pa., died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa., after a brief illness.
She was born in Kingwood, a daughter of Ruth Armentrout Walker of Spencer and the late Forrest Armentrout. She was an artist and musician. She started her own hair salon, The Cutting Edge, in Point Pleasant. She worked as office manager at Bernie’s Auto Repair, Tunkhannock. Her interests included her cats, gardening, knitting, music and baking. She was a Christian and attended Eaton Baptist Church, Tunkhannock, where she played flute.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, whom she married in 2002, Bernard Scranta Sr.; son, Cory Surface; daughter, Shayla Surface; stepchildren, Bernard Scranta Jr. and Kristina Williams; sister, Helen Paxton; brothers, David Armentrout and Danny Armentrout; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Jack Walker.

Joe Wilson

Joe Wilson, 104, of Spencer, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at Roane General Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born at Beech, a son of the late Hezekiah and Sarah Parsons Wilson. He was a retired timber cutter and a Christian.
He is survived by son, Joe J. Wilson of Spencer; stepdaughters, Gatha Greathouse of Looneyville and Dottie Boggs of Left Hand; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his lifelong companion, Flossie G. Blosser; stepdaughter, Carolyn Hickman; stepsons, Carl J. and Dorsey Blosser; seven brothers and three sisters.

Linda Lou Meek Ashby

Linda Lou Meek Ashby, 59, of West Columbia, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 after a battle with multiple sclerosis and cancer.
She was born in Clarksburg, a daughter of Floyd and Helen Meek of Lake Floyd. She graduated from Clarksburg Washington Irving High School in 1969. There she was a member of the drill team and a participant in other activities and clubs. In 1972, she earned an AB degree in education from Glenville State College. While at GSC, she was a member and vice president of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and a varsity cheerleader for GSC football and basketball. She then attended WVU and earned a master’s degree in secondary education in 1979. She continued her studies to obtain 45 additional graduate hours.
She spent over 30 years as a professional educator and worked in several W.Va. school systems, as well as schools in Virginia. She was an FBLA advisor, yearbook advisor, cheerleader advisor and volunteered to assist with school functions. Her interests included reading, movies and spending time with her family. She was a Methodist.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 37 years, Paul Edward Ashby Sr. of West Columbia; her children, Paul Edward Ashby Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., and Nicole Linn Stump of Fairmont; her siblings, twin sister Brenda DeGarmo of Lake Floyd, Floyd Allen Meek Jr. of Wilmore, Ky., and William Grady Meek of Morgantown; two grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and two great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Meek Courtney, formerly of Lake Floyd.

Etta Lou Brabham

Etta Lou Brabham, 78, of Reedy, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 at home.
She was born in Reedy, a daughter of the late James Edward and Blanche Viola White Cottrell. She was a homemaker and formerly attended Stoney Point Church near Reedy.
She is survived by her daughter, Velma Lou Dillon of Reedy; her son, Clayton R. Brabham of Reedy; a sister, Vonda Harold of Reedy; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Brabham; a sister, Gladys Milhoan; a brother, Lewis Cottrell; and a grandson.
Service was Saturday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, with Rev. John Price officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, near Spencer.

R. Alan Brant

R. Alan Brant, 60, of Spencer, died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 from injuries received in an automobile accident on U.S. 119 south of Spencer.
He was born in Takoma Park, Md., a son of the late Russell Alan and Elizabeth Frances Rae Dewey Brant. He was the assistant director of WorkForce West Virginia. He was a Christian and a member of Word of Faith Fellowship, Spencer. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post 21, Spencer. He was president of Tri-County Partnership and a member of Roane County Solid Waste Authority. He was an Eagle Scout and volunteered in local Scout activities.
He is survived by his wife, Kay F. Brant of Spencer; sons, Michael Brant of High Springs, Fla., and Larry Brannon of Spencer; daughters, Mary Johnston and Norma Knopp, both of Spencer, and Teresa Brannon of San Ramon, Calif.; brothers, Duane and Daniel Brant, both of Florida; sister, Lys Burden of Florida; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Service was Tuesday at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, with Pastor Geoff Wayne and Rev. Kay Lowther officiating. Military honors were accorded by members of American Legion, VFW, DAV and Order of the Purple Heart.

Ross M. Evans

Rev. Dr. Ross M. Evans, 89, of Black Mountain, N.C., died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 in the health care center of Highland Farms Retirement Community, Black Mountain, after an extended illness.
He was born in Glendale, a son of the late Earl and Ethel Evans. He received both his B.A. and D.D. degrees from W.Va. Wesleyan College. He served as a trustee of the college for 23 years and as a trustee emeritus. He received his M. Div. degree from the Garrett Theological School at Northwestern University. He was a member of the Black Mountain Rotary Club and a past president of Rotary clubs in Beckley and Lewisburg. He was a Paul Harris Fellow.
He served United Methodist churches as pastor in Illinois, Wisconsin and Florida, as well as in Clarksburg, Spencer, Rainelle, Hinton, Lewisburg, Parkersburg, Beckley, Wheeling and Morgantown. He served the W.Va. conference of the United Methodist church as president of the board of education, chairman of the Commission on Worship and the Board of Ministerial Learning, a member of the Program Council and as a pastoral delegate to the Northwestern Jurisdictional Conference. He also led numerous youth assemblies, workshops on worship and hymnody and spiritual retreats. He was a member of The Disciplined Order of Christ. He was founder and first Dean of the W.Va. Conference Institute of Church Music. His interests included church music and hymnody.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna Marie Todd of Black Mountain and Betsy Morgan Evans Ingstrup of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Long Evans.
A Celebration of Life potluck dinner and hymn sing will be today (Thursday) at 6 p.m. in Black Mountain Presbyterian Church,. Service is Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lewisburg United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life luncheon and hymn sing will follow the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Ross M. Evans Scholarship Fund, W.Va. Ethel L. Griffin

Ethel L. Griffin, 74, of Hartville, Ohio, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at home.
She was born in Spencer, a daughter of the late Lovell and Ethel G. Wilson. She retired from Hoover Co. after more than 28 years. Her interests included shopping.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bobby; daughter, Linda Ault of Hartville; sons, Bobby Griffin Jr. of Marion, Ohio, Harry Griffin of Florida, and Kenneth Griffin of Youngstown, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Service was Monday at Arnold Funeral Home, Hartville. Burial was in Mount Peace Cemetery, Hartville.

Johnnie Mae Keith

Johnnie Mae Keith, 88, of West Columbia, S.C., formerly of Spencer, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at Still Hopes Episcopal Home, West Columbia.
She was the daughter of the late Arnold and Wilma Bell Girard. She attended Mary Washington College and worked in the law offices of her grandfather, S. Paris Bell of Spencer. She was receptionist at Traders Bank for nearly 19 years. She was formerly a member of First Baptist Church, where she served as deaconess, choir member, Sunday school teacher and Bible school teacher. She was a volunteer for Helping Hand of Spencer and was involved with many other civic organizations.
She is survived by sons, Jon Girard Keith and Thomas Christopher Keith, both of Columbia, S.C.; and four grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Quellen McGuire Keith.

Lois H. O’Dell

Lois H. O’Dell, 84, of Charleston, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, after a brief illness.
She was the daughter of the late Howard R. Harper and Myrtle P. Harper. She was a retired secretary for West Virginia Workers Compensation Appeal Board, in addition to working for many years at Kanawha Valley Bank and the National Bank of Commerce. She was a member of Canaan United Methodist Church and a former member of Christ Church United Methodist.
She is survived by her son, Michael Hicks of Morgantown; daughter, Patricia Williams of Spencer; stepdaughter, Nancy Barbour of Roanoke, Va.; nine grandchildren and a great-grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Emerson Hicks and Virgil W. O’Dell; sisters, Ernistein Johnson, Mary O. Melnick and Helen Bailey; and a brother, Grose Harper.
Service was Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home, Charleston.

Alton Clyde Rader

Alton Clyde Rader, CDR, USNR, 91, of Atlantic Beach, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010.
He was born in Spencer. He was voted Most Popular Boy by the Spencer High School class of 1938. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Theater in World War II, as well as in Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the Navy as Commanding Officer, USN Reserve Battalion, Trenton, N.J., in 1967. He was also an educator with the Trenton Board of Education and retired in 1981. His interests included golfing, swimming, running and playing Ping Pong and bridge. He was a Christian.
He is survived by his sons, Mark A. Rader and William E. Rader; daughter, Mary Patricia Brodeur; and three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Jeanne M. Amalfi.

Geneva Gertrude Shreve

Geneva Gertrude Shreve, 92, of Spencer, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at Roane General Hospital.
She was a daughter of the late Clee and Ola Gertrude Short Allen. She was a retired employee of Spencer State Hospital.
She is survived by daughters, Virginia Pursley and Linda Starcher, both of Spencer, and Monica Matheny of Madisonville, Ky.; sons, James Shreve of Butler, Mo., John Shreve of Norton, Ohio, Bill Shreve and Tom Wilson, both of Spencer, and Tim Wilson of Leroy; half-sisters, Goldie Lukawecz, Eunice Moore and Nella Gribble; half-brothers, Ivan “Bunk” Allen and Averill Allen; 27 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James “Hank” Shreve and James Rogers; daughter, Leona Fay Hall; and half-brother, Marvin Allen.
Service was Wednesday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, with Rev. James Epling officiating. Burial was in Greathouse Cemetery, Spencer.

Nelle Stump

Nelle Stump, 96, of Altamonte Springs, Fla., formerly of Arnoldsburg, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 from congestive heart failure.
She was born at Orma, a daughter of the late Dink and Matilda Parsons. She graduated from Calhoun County High School and Glenville State Teacher’s College. She taught school for 34 years, most of them at Minnora and Arnoldsburg. She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church, Maitland, Fla. After moving to Florida, she continued to receive The Times Record and other newspapers to keep up on current news and events.
She is survived by a daughter, Caranelle Aaron of Pensacola, Fla.; a granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Stump; sisters, Zana Hamrick, Elizabeth Chancey and Lura Elliott; and brother, Russell Parsons.
A private service of family and friends will take place Saturday in Florida.

B.E. ‘Bud’ West

B.E. “Bud” West, 92, of Spencer, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at Roane General Hospital.
He was born at Walton, a son of the late Holly and Rebecca Hunt West. He was a retired truck driver with the W.Va. DOH. His interests included deer hunting.
He is survived by sons, Teddy West and Donnie West, both of Spencer, and Ronald West of Leroy; daughters, Pat Hersman, Charlotte Harper, Shirley Midcap, Earlene Simons, Doris Scott and Bobbie Anderson, all of Spencer, and Myrtle Badgett of Arnoldsburg; 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Gay Harris West in 1990; daughter, Cathy Sue McDonald; a brother; a half-brother; a sister; two half-sisters; two grandsons and a granddaughter.
Service was Sunday at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, with Rev. John E. Meadows officiating. Burial was in Eventide Cemetery.

Joe Junior Fields

Joe Junior Fields, 87, of Spencer, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 after an extended illness.
He was born in Roane County, the son of Joe Presley Fields and Sarah Ann Swiney Fields. He worked in metal fabrication and design. He was a welder and welding supervisor for Union Carbide and McJunkin of West Virginia and Hercules of Starke, Fla. He retired in 1988 and taught his grandchildren how to fish, hunt and garden.
In addition to his wife of 67 years, Martha Magdaline Collins Fields, he is survived by two sons, Allen D. Fields of Clendenin, Joe Fields Jr. of Elyria, Ohio; three daughters, Linda L. Rodgers of Spencer, Margaret A. Stouffer of Harmony and Bridget F. Griffis of Graham, Fla.; two sisters, Ruby Gandee of Ravenswood and Frankie Young of Elkview; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Opie, Jack, Oscar and Grover; and five sisters, Blanche, Midget, Ruth, Eva and Hope.
Service is Friday, Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. at Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin. Visitation is today (Thursday) from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Shirley Mack Starcher

Shirley “Shirl” Mack Starcher, 85, of Nebo, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 at Laurel Nursing Home, Big Otter, after a brief illness.
He was born in Clay County, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Tanner Starcher. He served in the U.S. Army and fought in Germany during World War II. He lived most of his life in Ohio, where he retired from Ford Motor Company as a supervisor. He then retired to Nebo, and he and his wife opened Granny’s Kitchen at Frametown. He was a fan of Cleveland Indians and a member of Unity Gospel Tabernacle, Nebo.
He is survived by three step-daughters, Rena Smith, Kathy Jones and Cinda Frase; a sister, Hilda Douglas of Westfield Center, Ohio; a brother, Roscoe Starcher of Seville, Ohio; three grandsons, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Renner Smith; brothers, Orville, Andy, Jim, Harland, Denver, Corbert and Dennis; sisters, Myrtle, Tanner, Etta Houghton, Ivy Drake, Rouie Watkins, Madge Lamb, Gladys Douge; an infant brother, French, and an infant sister, Elsie.
Service was Sunday at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Geoff Hamrick officiating. Burial with military graveside rites was in Coen Cemetery, Nebo. Memorial donations may be made to United Gospel Tabernacle, Nebo.
