Wanda C. Allen
Wanda C. Allen, 67, of Normantown, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007 at WVU Medical Center, Morgantown.
She was a daughter of Carl Dewayne and Lillie Pearl Frymier. She was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church, a homemaker and former employee of Kenny Shoe Company and Panther Primitives.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Allen; one son, Shawn Eugene of Fredericksburg, Va.; three brothers, Charles A. Frymier and Everett W. Frymier, both of Cleveland, and Denzil Lee Frymier of Vernon Hills, Ill.; one sister, Freda J. Palmer of Parma, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Burley Frymier; and one sister, Bernice Frymier.
Service was Wednesday at Rosedale Baptist Church with Elders Gary Bowman and Larry Fisher officiating. Burial was in Rosedale Baptist Church Cemetery. Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, was in charge of arrangements.
Harley C. Conley
Harley C. Conley, 87, of Left Hand, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 at his son’s home.
He was born at Tariff, a son of the late Homer S. and Levada Fields Conley. He was a school bus driver, laborer and member of the Teamster’s Union. He was a member of Henry’s Fork Baptist Church, Tariff.
He is survived by one son, Harley A. Conley of Looneyville; two daughters, Linda Starcher of Ripley and Peggy Nichols of Canton, Ohio; one brother, Homer J. Conley of Smithville; one sister, Josephine Goncy of Dayton, Ohio; and nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Jo Truman Conley; four sisters, Helen Jarvis, Hallie Conley, Jacqueline Jones and Imogene Conley; and two brothers, Mac Conley and Lewis Conley.
Service is today (Thursday) at 11 a.m. at John H. Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Leon B. Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Clover Cemetery.
William M. Greathouse
William Mark Greathouse, 45, of Spencer, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007 at home.
He was born in Braxton County, a son of the late Andy H. and Anna Frances Tanner Greathouse.
He is survived by his wife, Christina Taylor of Nicut; one daughter, Danielle N. Greathouse of Rawlesburg; two brothers, Cama D. and Kenneth, both of Chloe; and two sisters, Kathy E. Cross of Fairview, Ohio, and Debra K. Melrath Cason of Chloe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jessie.
Service and burial was Tuesday at Coen Cemetery, Nebo, with Rev. Donald Dawson officiating. Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, was in charge of arrangements.
Mary Ellen Harper
Mary Ellen Harper, of Pittsburgh, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 after a short illness.
She was a daughter of the late Dempsey and Bonnie Sleath.
She is survived by one daughter, Shelley Harper of Spencer; two sons, Brandon Brown of Pittsburgh and Matthew Harper of Ohio; two sisters, Leslie Oplander of Walton and Patsy Bush of Spencer; one brother, Fred Sleath of Walton; and two grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at John H. Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Shafer officiating. Burial will be in Jarvis Cemetery, Walton. Visitation is at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Dette Martha Hite
Dette Martha Hite, 96, of Spencer, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 at Roane General Hospital.
She was born in Jonesboro, Tenn., a daughter of the late Charles and Geneva Hamilton Sprinkles. She was a retired employee of Spencer State Hospital and Weston State Hospital. She was a member of the Roane General Hospital Auxiliary and a Baptist.
She is survived by one son, Jakie Hite of Spencer; one daughter, Evelyn Hefner of Jane Lew; one sister, Lexie Nelson of Johnson City, Tenn.; and 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Hite; one son, Charles Hite; one brother, Charles Sprinkles; one sister, Grace Barker; and one grandson.
Service was Monday at John H. Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. David Riddle officiating. Burial was in Johns Cemetery, Stouts Mills.
Bryan Scott Kelley
Bryan Scott Kelley, 44, of Spencer, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 at home after an extended illness.
He was born in Roane County, a son of John and Ina Davis Kelley of Peniel. He worked for Harris Oil Company for over 25 years and attended Boggs Fork Community Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Melissa Parsons Kelley; two sons, Seth and Levi; two brothers, Kevin and Roger, both of Spencer; and one sister, Sherry Bonnett of Peniel.
Service was Tuesday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Davis officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Peniel.

Roger Eugene Lattimer
Roger Eugene Lattimer, 59, of Spencer, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 at Roane General Hospital.
He was born in South Charleston, a son of Marjorie Atkinson Lattimer of Spencer and the late Foster Eugene Lattimer.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Shirley Mae Lattimer of Spencer.
Service was Wednesday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Michael “Mike” King officiating. Burial was in Eventide Cemetery.
Bessie F. Lesher
Bessie F. Lesher, 89, of Spencer, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 at Roane General Hospital.
She was born at Vicars Ridge, a daughter of the late Thomas Talbert and Ida Jane Kiser Fields. She retired from Kanawha Valley Bank, Charleston, in 1982. She was a member of Spencer Baptist Temple.
She is survived by one son, Glenn Marple of Green Township, Ohio; two daughters, Judith Pettit and Dianna Carpenter, both of Spencer; one brother, Thomas L. Fields of Brimfield, Ohio; two sisters, Lucille Cantley of Comfort and Mabel Taylor of Elizabeth; and two grandsons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Guy Marple and Roy Lesher; two brothers, Bruce and Brady Fields; and two sisters, Celia Epling and Kerry Carpenter.
Service and burial were Monday at Spencer Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Leon B. Strickland officiating. John H. Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Imogene McKown-Scott
Imogene Trout McKown-Scott, 95, of Spencer, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 at Roane General Hospital.
She was born at Left Hand, a daughter of the late Dr. French T. and Catherine King Trout. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a 1931 graduate of Spencer High School. She owned and operated Black and White Taxis during World War II. She retired from the U.S. Department of Commerce after 15 years. She was a member of Spencer Rebekah Lodge #132, a district deputy of the Rebekah Assembly for three years, former secretary and treasurer of the W.Va. Veterinary Association, former board member of Community Action, former member of the board of directors for the Committee on Aging, member of the Roane General Auxiliary and former member of Spencer Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley McKown Carpenter of Spencer; two stepsons, George M. Scott of Spencer and Basil “Eddie” Scott Jr. of Bradenton, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Mina Jo Varan of Lakeland, Fla.; and one grandson, five step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Carl M. McKown and Basil E. Scott Sr.; one sister, Gwendolyn Lightner; one stepson, Charles Scott; one stepdaughter, Patsy Scott Decker; and one step-grandson.
Service was Monday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Hayward Lough and Rev. Rick Perrine officiating. Burial was in Eventide Cemetery.

Erma Eileen Runnion
Erma Eileen Runnion, 90, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, formerly of Spencer, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 in Traditions at Bath Road, Cuyahoga Falls.
She was born in Spencer, a daughter of the late Homer Dale and Brooke O’Neil Bartlett. She was a homemaker and member of Spencer Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Sue Barker of Cuyahoga Falls; one son, David Runnion of Yorba Linda, Calif.; one sister, Mildred Haddox of Parkersburg; and four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Robert Runnion; and two brothers, Homer and Sterling Bartlett.
Service was Sunday at John H. Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Wade Branard and Pastor Tom Fletcher officiating. Burial was in Eventide Cemetery.
