Betty Jo Bowyer Kollar

Betty Jo Bowyer Kollar, 81, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, died Friday, June 26, 2009.
She was born in Roane County, the daughter of the late Fay and Adena McConnell Bowyer. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1945. She was a member of First Nazarene Church and Red Hats Society in New Philadelphia.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James D. Kollar; two sons, Darrin Kollar of Alaska and Martin Kollar of New Philadelphia; a brother, James Kollar of Charleston; a sister, June Haught of Spencer; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Richard Bowyer.
Service was June 30 at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover, Ohio, with Pastor Fred Wallis officiating. Burial was in Ridgecrest Memory Garden, New Philadelphia.

Donna Lynn Vineyard Light

Donna Lynn Vineyard Light, 65, of Boomer, formerly of Newton, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, after a short illness.
She was the daughter of Madelyn Elswick of Amma and the late Calvin Elswick. She was a former member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and a member of Boomer Baptist Church. She was a registered nurse.
She is survived by her husband, David Light; two daughters, Kelly Vineyard Tucker of Buffalo, N.Y., and Leigh Vineyard-Smith of Elkview; a son, Samuel Vineyard II of Elkview; two stepsons, Danny and Scott Light; siblings, Sandi Elswick Morris, Bill Elswick, Ed Elswick, Ron Elswick and Toni Elswick; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Service will be at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Elkview, Friday, at 4 p.m. with Pastor Lee Swor officiating and Pastor James Neeson opening in prayer. Burial will be in Amma Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service.

Mary Frances Whited Roberts

Mary Frances Whited Roberts, 65, of Spencer, died Friday, July 24, 2009 at her home.
She was born in Roane County, the daughter of the late Jewell E. Marks Whited. She worked at Taylor’s Fabric Shop, Norris Industries and Kellwood Company. She was a member of Steele Hollow Community Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Kathryn “Kathy” Simons, Patricia Diane “Patty” Mathewson and Amber LeShae Smith, all of Spencer; a son, Rev. Jackie Harold Roberts of Spencer; two brothers, Leslie Whited of Hartville, Ohio, and Blake Whited of Reedy; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Roberts in 2003, and three brothers, James, Harold and Kenneth.
Service was Monday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Roberts and Rev. Charles Davis officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, near Reedy.

Kenneth Wayne Taylor

Kenneth Wayne Taylor, 48, of Walton, died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at home.
He was the son of O. Wanda Taylor of Walton and the late Dewey K. Taylor. He attended Walton High School and was employed by Cooperative Construction of Dunbar. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors and reading the Bible.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Rebecca J. Taylor of Cross Lanes; a son, Lucas W. Taylor of Calhoun County; two brothers, Tony and Matthew Taylor, both of Walton; three sisters, Diane McCune of Spencer, Cathy Allen of Walton and Betty Taylor of Charleston; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Service was Monday at John H. Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Stewart officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Walton.

Lura "Dottie" Webb

Lura “Dottie” Webb, 92, of Spencer, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at home after an extended illness.
She was born at Beech, the daughter of the late Roy and Martha Lowers Butler. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Union Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Pearl Nichols of Spencer; three sisters, Virginia Parsons and Stella Hall, both of Parkersburg, and Georgia Atkinson of Spencer; three grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Webb; five brothers, Ray Brannon and Clifford, Dolpha, Nelson and Donzel Butler; and four sisters, Gae Smith, Lear Wears, Genevieve Butler and Rushie Oglesbee.
Service was Wednesday at Clover Cemetery with Rev. R. Edward Atkinson officiating. Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
