Anna Deane Casto

Anna Deane Knopp Casto, 73, of Williamstown, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital, Parkersburg.
She was born at Liverpool, a daughter of the late Harold Clifford and Charlottie Staats Knopp. She attended Val-ley Forge School in Roane County, Neal School and Parkersburg High School, where she graduated in 1951. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert L. Casto; one son, David L. Malson of Dayton, Ohio; four daughters, Ruth Triplett of Elkins, Cindy Heilman of Spencer, Charletta Kaye Boggs of Vienna, and Regina Alvarez of Parkersburg; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Wayne Knopp.
Service was Friday at Mt. Zion Church, Roane County with Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Jane Lee Cottrell

Jane Lee Cottrell, 65, of Xenia, Ohio, died Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Greene Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Waverly, Ohio. She worked at SuperValu for over 30 years. She attended Greeneview South School, graduated from Xenia High School, and attended both Rio Grande and Morehead colleges.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth Williamson Lowmiller of Xenia; her father and stepmother, Ralph and Helen Pollard of Washington Court House, Ohio; and her husband, Thomas E. Cottrell.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Kenneth Lowmiller.
Service was Saturday at McColaugh Funeral Home Inc., Xenia, with Pastor Rex Robinson officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.

Daniel A. Fisher

Daniel A. Fisher, 60, of Walton, died Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Veterans Administration Hospital, Cincinnati.
He was born in Pinellas County, Fla., a son of the late David and Audney Nanny Emmanuel Fisher. He was a safety specialist, registered nurse and army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Reita Nester Fisher; two daughters, Faye and Sue; one son, Danny; two stepsons, Eddie and Robbie; one sister, Durlene; four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy.
Service will be Saturday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with branch president Eldon Larson offici-ating. Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Phillip Noel Jeffries

Phillip Noel Jeffries, 49, of Amherst, Ohio, died Friday, May 4, 2007 at his home after a sudden illness.
He was born in Spencer, a son of Yvonne Jeffries of Harmony and the late William (Leon) Jeffries. He worked at IGA, Olmsted Township, Ohio.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Kimberly Hicks Jeffries; one son, Kurtis; three daughters, Demetria of Vermillion, Ohio, and Megan and Sadie, both of Elyria, Ohio; one brother, David Jeffries of Little Mountain, S.C.; two sisters, Connie Cummings of Harmony and Christine Wysocky of Lorain, Ohio; and one grand-son.
Service will be Saturday at Shadydale Church, Harmony, at 6 p.m.

Vivian McMullen

Vivian McMullen, 87, of Roswell, Ga., formerly of Spencer, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007.
She is survived by one son, Dan Stewart of Dunwoody, Ga.; one sister, Jean Pavlik of Martinsburg; two brothers, Charles Caldwell of Teays Valley and Jim Caldwell of Summersville; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Edith Caldwell, formerly of Lizemores; and one sister, Lorene Hamric, formerly of Spencer.
Service and burial was Saturday at Green Lawn Cemetery, Roswell. Memorial donations may be made to Hart-land Hospice, attn. Stuart Higginbotham, 4598 Barclay Dr., Dunwoody GA 30338.

Texia E. Stephens

Texia E. Knopp Stephens, 88, of Parkersburg, died Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Sunbridge Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born at Liverpool, a daughter of the late Charles and Flossie Burdette Knopp. She was retired from Walker-Parkersburg and a member of Broadway Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Stephens of Parkersburg; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Stephens; one brother, Gayle Knopp; and one sister, Orva Miller Brisbin.
Service was Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Dwane Porter officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Roane County.

Rita Joyce Taylor

Rita Joyce Taylor, of Dunbar, died Thursday, May 17, 2007, in CAMC Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was an employee of United Bank of Charleston and a member of Rocky Branch Church, Walton, where she also served as pianist. She was a 1964 graduate of Walton High School.
She is survived by her father, Ray Schoolcraft; her husband, Brice Taylor; one daughter, Mechelle Taylor; two brothers, Tim and Gary Schoolcraft; and one sister, Elaine Moore.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Iva Schoolcraft.
Service was Sunday at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Rev. Gary Moore officiating. Burial was in Looney Cemetery, Walton.

Russell Ray Wehrle

Russell Ray Wehrle, 40, of Spokane, Wash., formerly of Nitro, died Monday, May 7, 2007 at his home.
He was a graduate of Nitro High School and was a former laborer and nursing assistant. He had recently been or-dained as a Wesleyan pastor.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Joyce M. and Harry L. Hawkins of Chloe; his father, Richard R. Wehrle of Charleston; two brothers, Richard R. Wehrle of Nashville, Tenn., and Harry L. Hawkins III of Chloe; maternal grandparents Russell and Freda Naylor of Luling, La.; and paternal grandmother Lena Wehrle of Charles-ton.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Norman J. Wehrle.
Service is today (Thursday) at Orma United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Josiah “Si” Jarvis Ceme-tery, Oka. John H. Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Roy Franklin Whited

Roy Franklin Whited, 82, of Spencer, died Monday, May 21, 2007 at home.
He was born in Spencer, a son of the late John J. and Exie Ann Tolley Whited. He was a pipefitter (Pipefitters Lo-cal #565), a Baptist and an army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Elwanda Lee Keller Whited; one daughter, Mary Sue Whited Kelley of Spencer; one son, John Patrick Whited of Spencer; one step-daughter, Karen Cerne of St. Albans; one step-son, Gregory Westfall of Spencer; four grandchildren, two step-grandsons, seven great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Helen Whited; and one grandson, Tim Kelley.
Service is today (Thursday) at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mike King officiating. Burial will be in Gandee Chapel Cemetery.
