William L. Foster
--William L. Foster, 76, of Gandeeville, died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at home.
He was born in Woodstown, N.J., a son of the late Lawrence L. and Evelyn M. Pancoast Foster. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and afterwards worked as a truck driver for N.K.S. Distributors in New Castle, Del., and retired 33 years later.
He is survived by his wife, Eva B. Foster; one son, William B. of Little Rock, Calif.; four daughters, Eleanor J. Reber of Gandeeville, Eva A. Foster and Lisa S. Foster, both of Elkton, Md., and Annette M. Cole of Landenburg, Pa.; two sisters, Helen Kobernick of Bridgeton and Evelyn Fagan of Lansdale, Pa.; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Service was Wednesday at H.T. Layton Funeral Home, Woodstown. The body was cremated.
Pearl C. Hicks
--Pearl C. Hicks, 72, of Spencer, died Friday, May 4, 2007 at Roane General Hospital.
She was born at Falling Rock, a daughter of the late William Walter and Rosa Kathryn Sykes Bevel. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Wilson of Spencer; one son, Larry Schoolcraft of Spencer; three sisters, Georgia Craigo of Florida, Margaret Lyons of Ohio, and Della Bea Bevel of Spencer; one brother, Chester Bevel, of Spencer; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ronzel Hicks.
Service was Sunday at John H. Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Alvis officiating.

Janet Lynn Mitchell
--Janet Lynn Mitchell, 48, of Leroy, died Thursday, May 3, 2007 at her home.
She was born in Roane County, a daughter of the late Dallas E. Westfall Sr. and Margarete Stewart Westfall. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Mitchell; one daughter, Amanda Mitchell of Leroy; one son, Johnny Mitchell Jr. of Leroy; one sister, Tammy Westfall of Leroy; and two brothers, Dallas E. “Eddie” Westfall Jr. of Leroy and Wille E. Stewart of South Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Tim Stewart.
Service was Saturday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Dick Elliott officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Reedy.
Freda A. Reynolds
--Freda A. Reynolds, 84, of Spencer, died Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Roane General Hospital.
She was born in Roane County, a daughter of the late Edward S. and Vista Douglas Kyer. She worked at Kellwood Company for 15 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary A. Miller of El Cajon, Ca., and Julia Ann Harris of Parkersburg; one son, William E. Reynolds of Spencer; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Reynolds; one sister, Violet Williams; and one brother, Edward Kyer.
Service was Tuesday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Roberts officiating. The body was cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 238, Hurricane WV 25526.
