Frank Anderson
--Frank Anderson, 57, of Gandeeville died Friday, March 16, 2007 at home.
He was born in Roane County, a son of Mary Harris Anderson of Gandeeville and the late Olen Anderson. He was retired from Roane General Hospital with 29 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Wolf Creek Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Ruby Fields Anderson; one daughter, Tammy McCroskey of Walton; one son, Michael Anderson of Gandeeville; two sisters, Karen Anderson Ray of Chloe and Sharon Belcher of Newark, Ohio; two brothers, Clifford and David Anderson, both of Gandeeville; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Rickey, Carl and Robert Anderson.
Graveside service was Monday at Anderson Family Cemetery near Gandeeville with Rev. Robert Hargus officiating.
Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth Campbell Jr.
--Kenneth Richard Campbell Jr., 68, of Amma died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at home after a long illness.
He was born on
Little Left Hand Road, a son of the late Olive Carper Campbell Phelps and the late Kenneth Richard “Hickey” Campbell. He was raised by his grandparents, Roy and Bertha Carper. He was a lifelong member, Sunday school teacher and senior deacon of Bethel Baptist Church, Amma. He was a 1958 graduate of Spencer High School. He retired from Columbia Gas after 20 years of service. He was a 46-year member of Linden Lodge No. 83 AF&AM and a member of Tyrian Chapter No. 13 Royal Arch Masons, Kanawha Commandary No. 4 Knights Templar, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, the Beni Kedem Shrine, AANOMS and the Linden Chapter No. 152 Order of the Eastern Star.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Shirley June Withrow Campbell; one daughter, June Ann Campbell Stanley of Richmond, Va.; two sons, Kenneth Richard Campbell III of Richmond and Roy Allen Campbell of Hurricane; and six grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Roy Phelps.
Service was Sunday at John H. Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Ora Holbert officiating. Burial with Masonic graveside rites was in Clover Cemetery. An Eastern Star memorial service was conducted Saturday at the funeral home.

Dollie J. Cooper
--Dollie J. Cooper, 60, of Washington, formerly of Chloe, died Monday, March 12, 2007 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, following an extended illness.
She was born in Calhoun, a daughter of the late Arno and Roxie Siers Cooper. She was a laboratory assistant for E.I. Dupont Company, Washington.
She is survived by her daughter/niece, Melissa Pulit of Vienna; two brothers, Tom Cooper of Arnoldsburg and Glen Sears of Chloe; and companion, Ferris Nedeff of Washington.
Service was Saturday at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Carl Marks officiating. Burial was in Cooper Cemetery, Chloe.
Elizabeth B. Deem
--Elizabeth Blondell Deem, 73, of Parkersburg died Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Sunbridge Nursing Center.
She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Herbert R. Sr. and Elsie Taylor Reed. She was a licensed practical nurse for 36 years and had been employed at Roane General Hospital and more recently at the W.Va. Masonic Home.
She is survived by one son, James W. Deem of Spencer; two sisters, Linda Grapes of Parkersburg and Marybelle Hersman of Ripley; one brother, David F. Reed of Belpre, Ohio; and two grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Deem, seven brothers and three sisters.
Service was Saturday at Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Mineral Wells.
Helen Goff
--Helen Goff, 89, of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Spencer, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 in Akron.
She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Eskel and Cora Brown Holmes. She was a longtime resident of Spencer and retired from Kellwood Co.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharlene Harsh of Akron; one sister, Iris Smith of Parkersburg; special niece, Sandy Lessner; and three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Waldo Goff; three brothers; and two sisters.
Service is 1 p.m. today (Thursday) at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Burial will be in Hodam Cemetery near Reedy.
Sherry Lake Jensen
--Sherry Lake Jensen, 21, of Arnoldsburg died Saturday, March 17, 2007 in an auto accident.
She was born in Charleston, a daughter of Debora Jensen of Arnoldsburg and the late Alan L. Jensen. She was employed at George’s Diner at Big Otter.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by one sister, Beth A. Jensen of Pittsburgh.
Service is 1 p.m today (Thursday) at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Burial will be in Jensen Family Cemetery, Arnoldsburg.
Verna Keffer
--Verna Catherine Nichols Keffer, 90, of Parkersburg died Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.
She was born at Otto, a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Malissa J. Nichols. She was a Christian and a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon D. Neupert of Vienna; and one son, James K. Keffer of Parkersburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Keffer Jr.; five brothers, Poe, Ralph, Orville, Coy and Clifford Nichols; and two sisters, Ona Barnhouse and Hettie Blosser.
Service was Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Rev. Leon Strickland officiating. Burial was in Clover Cemetery.
Susan B. Moore
--Susan B. Moore, 45, of Cleveland died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at home.
She was born in Bedford, Ohio, a daughter of Leonard C. Ramsey of Left Hand and Gertrude Gailer Ramsey Conn of Cleveland. She was a licensed practical nurse.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Lora Sue Sable of Lakewood, Ohio, and Janet Rafail of Nixa, Mo.; and one brother, Robert Carl Ramsey of Conneaut, Ohio.
Service is 8 p.m. today (Thursday) at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Webb officiating. Visiting hours start at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be Friday in Clover Cemetery.
Phyllis Ann Stewart
--Phyllis Ann Cook Stewart, 71, of Roanoke, Va., formerly of Spencer, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007 after a long illness.
She was born at
Pineville, a daughter of the late C.H. “Duke” and Thelma Lawson. Her family owned and operated Richwood Furniture Store for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Richwood and assisted teachers in Sunday school classes. She was a member of the Eastern Star chapter in Richwood. She was a graduate of Richwood High School and a teacher’s aide at Richwood Grade School.
She is survived by one son, David Bird Cook III of Blue Ridge, Va.; and former husband, David Bird Cook of Richwood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Heather Elizabeth Ann Cook; husband, Kelly Stewart, formerly of Spencer; and one brother, Pat Lawson, formerly of Prince Frederick, Md.
Service was Saturday at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood with Rev. Pat Green officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Memorial Park, Richwood.
Hazel Elizabeth Whited
--Hazel Elizabeth Whited, 97, of Walton died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at the Walton Inn.
She was born at Walton, a daughter of the late Edward R. and Eliza J. Canterbury Whited. She was a 1927 graduate of Walton High School, a homemaker and director emeritus of Poca Valley Bank. She was a member of Walton Union Church.
She is survived by several cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Saddie.
Service was Saturday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial was in Whited Cemetery near Walton.
Leah J. Starcher Wilson
--Leah J. Nitz Starcher Wilson, 81, of Spencer died Friday, March 16, 2007 in Akron, Ohio.
She was born at Millstone, a daughter of the
late Andrew Jud and Lou Vada Keith Nitz. She was married to Denver R. Starcher and the late Homer C. Wilson. She was a lifelong member of Spencer Baptist Temple. She retired from Kellwood Co. and also worked at Hughes Drug Store. She was an active volunteer of the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary at Roane General Hospital. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge for over 50 years, where she held the office of Noble Grand for many years. She visited all 50 states as well as seven European countries.
She is survived by one daughter, Loretta Ann Starcher Hinkle of Akron; and two grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and second husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy and Leon Nitz; and three sisters, Lelah Stout, Leota Allen and Peggy Lee Nichols Stovall.
Service was Tuesday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Smith Epling officiating. A Rebekah Lodge ceremony and a Ladies Hospital Auxiliary service were held on Monday. Burial was in Eventide Cemetery.
