Ernest Paul DiToto

--Ernest Paul DiToto, 83, of Walton died Friday, March 2, 2007 at Roane General Hospital.
He was born in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Emil R. and Anna DiToto. He was a painter.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Looney DiToto; one daughter, Kay Cottrell of Gandeeville; two sons, Gary DiToto of Ripley and Tommy DiToto of Walton; one sister, Virginia McDonald of Maryland; two brothers, Adolph DiToto of Orlando and Tony DiToto of Alexandria, Va.; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Emil and Edward DiToto; one sister, Caroline Bradford; and one grandson and two great-granddaughters.
Service was Monday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Shafer officiating. Burial was in Looney Cemetery, Walton.

Robin Jean Harper

--Robin Jean Harper, 43, of Spencer died Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Wood County, a daughter of Sue Miller Harper of Spencer and James Harper of Walton. She enjoyed working in public as a waitress for several years.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, Donnie Sloan of Spencer and Jeffrey Sloan of Walton; one sister, Shannon Epling of Spencer; two brothers, Bud Harper of Reedy and Jim Harper of Beckley; paternal grandparents, Walter and Wanda Harper of Walton; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rhonda Kay Sloan; and maternal grandparents, Aubrey and Myrtle Miller.
Service is 3 p.m. Saturday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Greathouse officiating. Visitation is two hours prior to service. Per her wishes, the body will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston WV 25311.

Timothy Otho Knopp

--Timothy Otho Knopp, 56, of Parkersburg died Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Parkersburg, after 22-month battle with cancer.
He was born in Charleston and grew up in Spencer, a son of the late Edward O. and Greta Mace Knopp. He was a 1968 graduate of Spencer High School and a 1972 and 1974 graduate of West Virginia University, where he received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in political science. Since 1989, he was vice president of Tiano-Knopp Associates, a grant-writing firm he owned with his wife Toni Tiano. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, where he served as usher and past chair of the finance committee. He was past president of Parkersburg Serra Club and a member of Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Toni Tiano; one son, Christian Anthony Tiano Knopp; one sister, Deanna Hess of Rock Hill, S.C.; and four brothers, Roger Knopp of Mt. Alto, Phillip Knopp of York, S.C., Kyle Knopp of Spencer, and Kimble Knopp of Rock Hill; and special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Kay and David McQuain of Morgantown.
Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Peterson as celebrant. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy F. Lyons

--Dorothy F. Lyons, 72, of Belmont, Ohio, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007 at OVMC, Wheeling.
She was born in Spencer, a daughter of the late Willie and Mary Runions Hughes. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Nelson O. Lyons; three brothers, Steve Hughes of Barnesville, Ohio, Albert Hughes of Spencer and Dick Hughes of Spencer; two sisters, Carolyn Jones of Elkhart, Ind., and Alice Jett of Spencer; and three grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Macel Westfall; three brothers, Charles, Harry “Buster”, and Rex Hughes; and three sisters, Icey Hughes, Emmy Bush and Dora Starcher.
Service was Friday at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, Barnesville, with Rev. Ed Emory officiating. Burial was in Belmont Cemetery.

Lena E. Starcher

--Lena E. Starcher, 66, of Mt. Zion died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007 at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Grantsville.
She was born at Cremo, a daughter of the late Lon Husk and the late Bertha Starcher. She was a homemaker and former employee of SAV-A-TOOL, Grantsville. She attended Cremo Community Church.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Holly D. Starcher; six children, Marvin, Brenda and Ronnie Starcher, all of Hur, Cleveland Starcher of Parkersburg, Janet Gherke and Dewayne Starcher, both of Grantsville; three brothers, Pete Starcher of Phoenix, Bob Ray Starcher of Oil City, Pa., and Don Freshour of Spencer; one sister, Marge Nester of Mt. Zion; and 10 grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Boyd Stutler, Louie Ben Starcher and Harold Starcher; and one sister, Geraldine Sturm.
Service was Sunday at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church with Rev. Roger Carter and Rev. Delmas Stutler officiating. Burial was in Starcher Family Cemetery, Hur.
John H. Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Thomas Wilford

--Joseph Thomas Wilford, 82, of Millstone died Monday, March 5, 2007 at Clarksburg Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was born in Albany, N.Y., a son of the late George and Margaret Mullens Wilford. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a former ambulance driver for the Nicholas County EMS at Summersville.
He is survived by one daughter, Anet Rhodes of Millstone; five sons, Thomas Wilford of Millstone, Joey, Robert, Howard and Tommy Wilford, all of Summersville; one stepson, Junior Morris of Millstone; and three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dessie Wilford; one stepson, Phillip Garold Morris; and three sisters, Marge, May and Betty, all of New York.
Service is 11:30 a.m. Friday at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Burial with military graveside rites will be in Coen Cemetery, Nebo.
