Roane County has landed three first-team picks on the 2008 all-Little Kanawha Conference softball first team.
Juniors Morgan Cottrell, Cheyenne Hall and Ashli Knotts of the Lady Raiders were named to the honor squad, with both Cottrell and Hall making it for a third straight season.
Cottrell, an outfielder, hit .357 and was a perfect 53-for-53 on stolen base attempts.
Second baseman Hall had a .411 batting average with 36 RBIs, three homers and 13 doubles.
Knotts hit .378 with 37 RBIs and excelled on the mound with a 20-8 record, 0.95 ERA, 10 shutouts and 172 strikeouts in 147-1/3 innings pitched.
Roane finished with a school-best 22-11 record after losing to Ritchie County in the sectional tournament.
A pair of Lady Raider seniors was tabbed for the LKC’s second team.
Michele Carpenter was picked at catcher after hitting .274 with six doubles and 15 RBIs this past season.
Allie Mills, an outfielder, batted .291 with 26 RBIs, five triples and three homers. |
