Little League championship
The two teams will tangle today (Thursday) at 7 p.m. at the league field near Spencer Elementary School.
Armacell improved to 13-4 on the season by edging John H. Taylor Funeral Home 3-2 in the first tournament game. Ryan Kendall fanned 13 for the winners and also collected a pair each of hits and RBIs. Drew Kinder went 2-for-3 for Armacell.
Dalton Simmons took the pitching defeat for JHT, which had hits from Casey Jones and Ben Daniels and an RBI from Josh Simpson. JHT’s record dropped to 5-13.
In game two, Mac Linkinogger struck out 13 and smacked a pair of hits to lead FNB over Harden Insurance, 4-0. Logan O’Brien and Cody Rhodes each knocked in a run for the winners, who ran their season record to 9-8.
Harden (9-9) got hits from David Johnston and Caleb Moore. Johnston worked four innings and took the mound loss.
JHT and Harden are scheduled to play in a consolation game Monday.
