Roane (4-3) also lost to Kyle, Ky., 10-1 on Thursday after winning their pool with a 2-1 record earlier in the week, including a 3-1 win over Paul VI, Va., last Wednesday.

The Lady Raiders wound up fourth in the 16-team spring break event at Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Cheyenne Hall had the only two hits for Roane in their final game of the tournament. Ashli Knotts (4-3) took the pitching loss after allowing eight hits in six innings.

Knotts struck out 10 in the loss to Ryle, but the Lady Raiders were guilty of nine errors. Hall, Morgan Cottrell and Amy Williams had the Roane hits.

Knotts was the winner against Paul VI and had an RBI single. Paige Garrett and Williams also had singles for the Lady Raiders.

Southern, Ohio, managed only three hits off Roane County pitching in a doubleheader loss to the Lady Raiders Monday in Spencer.

Ashli Knotts got the win in both games to improve to 6-3 on the season. She has been the pitcher of record in every Roane game thus far.

Knotts also starred at the plate as she and Cheyenne Hall both had a pair of RBIs in a 10-0 rout in game one and collected a triple with two more RBIs in a 10-2 game two triumph.

Ashli Knotts twirled her second short-game no-hitter of the season Tuesday in Glenville as Roane County humbled host Gilmer County 19-0 in the first game of an LKC softball twinbill.

Knotts, 7-3 on the season, fanned five and allowed one walk in three innings of work. She also had a big game at the plate with three hits, including a double, and five RBIs. Sammy Sloan drove in four runs for the Lady Raiders and Kate Williams another three.

Roane pounded out 10 hits and put up 10 runs in the second inning.

Game two was a four-inning 17-1 rout by the Lady Raiders, who upped their record to 8-3 and 2-0 in the LKC. Morgan Cottrell had a pair of hits and Cheyenne Hall knocked in three teammates for the winners, who took advantage of 14 walks and four errors by the Titans.
