RCHS beat second place Ripley by 70 points to claim the five-school boys competition and won a whopping 14 events.

Derek Davis was the meet’s high point scorer with 30.5 on the strength of first places in both hurdle events.

Roane had other dual winners in Aaron Atkinson (long jump and 100 meters), Randy Price (1600 and 3200) and Jeremiah Coon (400 and high jump). Coon cleared 6 feet in the high jump to tie the school record.

The Raiders also had winners in Jordan Drake in the pole vault, Juan Perez in the 200, and four of their relay teams.

Ripley easily outdistanced the Lady Raiders to win the girls championship 196.5-123.

Roane had a two-time winner in Ashli Knotts (pole vault and 300 hurdles) and also got firsts from Morgan Cottrell in the high jump and Stephanie Mitchell in the long jump.
