Roane bats rumble against LKC foes

Roane County’s baseball team needed five innings to get one win and 10 to secure another.
The Raiders went five frames in clubbing Calhoun County 14-4 Monday at Mt. Zion. Alex Mace smacked two homers for the winners, who also got two hits each from Josh Wine, Daniel Eisenberg and Jackson Craddock, as well as two RBIs each from Evan Greathouse and Quentin Corbitt. Craddock also stole three bases.
Winning pitcher Justin Dynes and Cody Starcher combined to limit the 0-3 Red Devils to five hits.
The Raiders plated two runs in the top of the 10th to beat the St. Marys Blue Devils 6-4 Tuesday in Pleasants County.
Ethan Batten got the pitching win with three innings of work in relief of starter Josh Jones. Mace and Craddock had three hits each and Batten helped his own cause with a pair of RBIs.

Point Pleasant worked a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth inning to nip visiting Roane County 11-10 in a varsity baseball game last Wednesday.
Josh Wine, Daniel Eisenberg and Ryan McKenzie each drove in two runs for the Raiders, who had rallied from a 9-6 deficit with three runs in the top of the sixth.
