to all-state first team

Roane County High’s Tyler Dolan heads a list of five Raiders named to the 2009 Class AA all-state football team.
Members of the W.Va. Sports Writers Association selected Dolan, a senior, to the first team defense.
The 6-1, 172 lb. Dolan was tabbed at a defensive end spot after a stellar final season in the maroon and silver. His totals included 26 solo tackles with 14 assists, including seven tackles for loss. He had nine sacks, broke up one pass and blocked three kicks.
Dolan is the fourth Raider to earn first team all-state honors, joining Derek Hardman (2003 and 2004), Evan Kendall (2005) and Ty Jackson (2006).
The Raiders had a pair of second team selections in seniors Evan Greathouse and Rhett Atkinson. Greathouse is a 5-8, 195 lbs. offensive lineman and Atkinson, 6-3, 160, was added to the defensive unit as the punter.
Junior tight end Alex Mace and sophomore running back/linebacker Nathan Reynolds each received honorable mention.
