EMS personnel responded to a residence near the Arnoldsburg post office to assist Teresa Lynn Knicely of Orma, who was unresponsive. Cpl. D.P. Starcher of the State Police detachment in Grantsville was then called to the scene.

Knicely was eventually pronounced dead. There were no signs of trauma or injuries to Knicely, whose body was sent to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.

A State Police press release said Knicely was living with her boyfriend and daughter from a previous relationship. Child protective services took custody of the child, whose age was not provided. Knicely’s boyfriend made the call to 911.

During the investigation at the residence, troopers found drug paraphernalia on the premises. The victim and her boyfriend also had a history of domestic related problems, according to police.

Starcher, who is heading the investigation, said he has not ruled out foul play in the death, which police are treating as suspicious.
